Introduction of Dr. Sunita Rai


Sunita has over 22 years of experience in psychotherapy and counselling; mindfulness; wellbeing interventions; local and regional marketing; corporate training and staff development; and education amongst others. She is a skilled psychotherapist, coach, facilitator and lecturer. She has developed a unique Integrated Wellbeing Model (IWM) for psychotherapists, co-developed a unique model of leadership called Positive Performance Leadership (PPL) for leaders and co-developed a spiritual cum psychological model of therapy for rehabilitation for the incarcerated. She is currently writing a book on wellbeing and happiness.

Her psychotherapy experience covers a wide spectrum of individuals that includes children, teens, couples, families and groups. She has provided her services to schools, family service centres, counselling centres, children’s home and is currently in private practice. She has handled cases related to the following issues amongst others: childhood abuse, spousal abuse, abandonment/neglect, bullying, relationship tensions, youth delinquency, violence, substance abuse, dysfunctional communication, stress, family discord, incarceration, couple conflict, adultery, divorce, career challenges, public speaking and others.

One of her greatest strengths is the ability to synthesise various theories, concepts, experience and applying it in practice. This has made a great difference to people from all walks of life. Moreover, her ability to appreciate cultural diversity and to adapt to different situations are of great value to her clients. Her strong analytical and organisational skills have enabled her to be effective in her area of work. She balances her objectivity with a keen sense of sensitivity to people’s cognitive and emotional needs.
